am cross posting this to other community journals ... as well as my own

Hi,

Just joined NaNoWriMo 2005 for the third year (only completed the first year),
and am getting excited to do this and finish.

Is there anyone here who is interested in being a part of a support system in the nanowrimo challenge?

my username there is nanowritemore.

What do you mean?

I started writing a Python doodad for a friend for nanowrimo last year that would crunch together text from chat logs, but when it was mostly done he decided he didn't need it anymore. (though he also dropped out for several reasons...)

not sure what you are asking, but i'm guessing it has to do with this being my third year to participate (anticipated participation), and that the first year (2002) i wrote more than 50,000 words within the 30-day period. The story has some good smaller stories within it, but I need to bring them all together in a cohesive form ... it's an absolute mess.

In 2003, I started, but wrote for only a few days, before it was clear I wasn't up for it. Too many other distractions.

This year, I want to do the same as in 2002 ... attempt to write the 50,000 words within 30 days, and come up with something to work from.

Sounds like fun doing some sort of "crunch together of text chat logs" to create a story. If you were doing this for someone else, and he dropped out, couldn't you still keep it for yourself? Or use the same concept with your own chats this year?
