you've read this philosophy from me ...

I’ve had many loved ones die. My dad was the first to die; I was 19 years old.

He was my best friend, confidant, mentor, support.

He’s with me everyday now, and watches out for me and those whom he loves.

I believe this is true of all our deceased loved ones.

We must respect them. It’s good karma; plus, it shows we still love them.

Like a friend said, I feel many of our societies do encourage us to not think about the dead, death, dying, et al. But it is a part of life. It completes the circle of life. Look at the four seasons of the year. Think about how each season effects the next. It’s the complete circle of life. We are a part of that.

Being Jewish from my mother’s side, I have had the experience of learning about how the Jews take care of their dead. It is connected, communal and heartfelt.
