Some of the diet drinks with Splenda are tolerable.

I had to ditch colas to save my kidneys from the phosphorus that's in there. I wound up drinking generic 7-up substitutes. Down here the Food Lion store brand uses Splenda.

Thanks, Leperman.
I've tried a variety of Splenda-sweetened sodas, and don't really like them.

I'm a sugar-aholic. ugh.

If you absolutely must have sugar, you'll be better off drinking soda with real cane sugar rather than high fructose corn syrup.

Try iced tea with stevia? Actual health *benefits* instead of the problems of cola (of which sugar is only one). I like a lemon or mint tea, personally.

Thanks, kayre :)

Just before posting this query, I tried Zevia, which is sweetened with stevia. Mr. F enjoyed it, but I didn't like it. Can't recall when stevia first hit the market ... 10 years ago? ... I tried it then and a few years later. Like other sweetening alternatives, it had that yucky aftertaste.

The health bennies sound great, but it would take a lot for me to drink that stuff on a regular basis.

Oh, well. I guess I have to settle for spritzer and juice to get some sort of tastebud fun.

Thanks for the idea! I really appreciate it. :)
