Rare Box Turtle sighting

The other day, an elderly Box Turtle crossed the path near our hovel. Mr. F was fortunate to spot the little one and take some photos* of him.

Turns out Box Turtles are rare in the Great Lakes area. They live up to 80 years. Mr. F's mom has only seen one other Box Turtle here, and that was when she was a little girl. This Box Turtle is a male. Only males have red eyes. Wild.
